Designed
and produced by Amy Mees and Mark Wagner with printing assistance
from Caitlin MacRae and production assistance from Cat Glennon •
Pen and ink originals were drawn in 2007. Reproductions have appeared
in McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern and a couple other places.
After scanning, the original drawings were fully water-colored and
exhibited at the Adam Baumgold Gallery in Alphaville • This
edition was relief printed from etched magnesium plates on Zerkall
vellum text, airbrushed with Winsor & Newton and Holbein watercolors,
and curated with matching Prismacolor pencils. Prints are available
individually or in bound volumes • Twenty-six volumes bound
in Asahi bookcloth with foil stamped covers are lettered A through
Z and signed by the artist. Their screw post bindings are capable
of easy disassembly for display • Edition numbers for loose,
individual letters were calculated by adding the letter’s
incidents in Scrabble tiles, plus a coolness factor voted on by
studio regulars, plus double the MacRae monogram coefficient |
