Untitled Performance (Candle Toss)
1996 Cleveland Performance Art Festival, Cleveland, Ohio
Miller and Shellabarger were suspended in climbing harnesses eight feet off the floor and twenty-five feet apart. A large container of candles was suspended next to Shellabarger. The performance began when Shellabarger lit a candle and from it lit subsequent candles that he would then throw to Miller. This continued until Miller successfully caught a lit candle after letting the unsuccessful attempts accumulate beneath him.
