WestTown Gallery Network presents the second-biannual "The WestTown
Gallery Hop"
Saturday, May 6, 2006
12 to 6pm
Win an Alex Jovanovich drawing
during the WestTown Gallery Hop
On Saturday, May 6, the galleries of
the WestTown Gallery Network open their doors for their second daylong
gallery walk, or "hop."
Viewers who visit all six galleries
on the day of this season's gallery hop, Saturday, May 6, will be
eligible to participate in a raffle to win an artwork by Alex Jovanovich.
Start on the southern edge of the Network
at Lisa Boyle Gallery and Western Exhibitions early in the afternoon
for treats, then work your way to Booster and Seven, Corbett vs. Dempsey,
and 40000, and end up at Fraction Workspace for the raffle at 5:30pm.
At each stop, get each gallery's stamp on your WestTown Gallery Map
and present the map to Dov or Clare at Fraction Workspace for your
chance to win the Jovanovich artwork.
For the Spring 2006 season, WestTown Gallery Network invited Chicago
artist Alex Jovanovich, who shows with Fraction Workspace, to design
our map. WGN publishes two maps a year, for the Spring and Fall gallery
season. This foldout brochure contains a schedule of exhibitions for
each gallery and a re-interpretation of the WestTown Gallery Network
map by the artist that WGN commissions. WGN then offers, by raffle,
a piece of artwork by that artist during that season's WGN gallery
hop.

The
WestTown Gallery Network is a consortium of commercial and non-profit
visual art exhibition spaces located in the West Town neighborhoods
(Wicker Park, East Village, Bucktown, Kinzie Industrial Corridor)
of Chicago whose goal is to consolidate a new gallery district for
Chicago art enthusiasts. This collaboration will support simultaneous
openings and closing receptions, publishing a biannual brochure desgined
by a local artist with our schedules and a maps, group promotion both
locally and nationally and adding another art destination to Chicago's
rich visual arts tapestry.
